To anyone who came out to our recent Fellowship Night, I hope all of you had as awesome a time as I did. And to those who didn’t, here’s a quick a recap so you can get a taste of how wonderful our evening was. The speaking last night (shout out to Ruiyu W.!) was on Eve as life’s increase. In Genesis 2:18, we see that God says “it is not good for the man to be alone” and in the next couple of verses, Adam cannot find a counterpart and is still alone. However, in verses 21-23, God formed Eve out of Adam and a counterpart for Adam is found! This is so awesome, because Eve is made completely from Adam and is composed of nothing else. This entire picture typifies Christ and the church, which is us. Ephesians 5:25 says, “Husbands, love your wives even as Christ also loved the church and gave himself up for her.” In this verse, we see that the relation between Christ and the church is that of a romance between a husband and a wife. The church was made to be a counterpart of Christ, but in order for this to happen, it must only be composed of Christ. As the church, we must be grow in life so that our living will only be of Christ. Then, and only then, will we become a suitable counterpart and wife to Christ!
