This week I really enjoyed fellowshipping with my fellow sisters. It’s that time of the year when we all get homesick and are tired of being at school. Not to mention how cold it is now. But I am thankful that my sisters are always there to warm me up. There is abundant sharing of snacks, jackets, and Jesus Christ. I enjoy praying, talking, and getting into the word with them. I am so thankful for the space we have to be honest with one another. I can share my troubles and toils and then we can come and pray to the Lord together. My sister and I enjoyed this verse this week from Matthew 11:28-30, “Come to Me all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest. Take My yoke upon you and learn from Me, for I am gentle and humble in heart, and you will find rest for your souls. For My yoke is easy and My burden is light.”
The Lord wants to take care of us. He wants to be our Rest, our Friend, and our King. He is willing and able to take on our burdens. He died so that we may have life and life eternal. I was and am encouraged to give my cares to the Lord because He cares for us. It is not healthy to keep all these things bottled inside or feel like no one understands or wants to listen to you. The Lord wants us to be open with Him and confess our troubles to Him. He wants us to come to Him and give Him our burdens. Simply saying, “Lord, I need You to help me” is a good start. He wants us to live and not die. He wants us to prosper in His abundant grace.
